CRT

CRT TV Inventor discovered CRT technology has been used in our traditional televisions for many years now. CRT stands for single cathode ray tube which illuminates our TV screen with the help of electron beam. Having a CRT TV has its own advantages and disadvantages. CRT television is very easy to plug and play to start with. You simply need to put it on stand, connect it with antenna or cable and just switch it on to view the picture. Here, if we compare CRT vs. LCD, the CRT monitor 'scores' over LCD monitor in terms of installation ease. Setting up a LCD TV and its audio system is a bit of exercise and time consuming affair.

CRT monitors give you excellent performance in terms of color, shadows and contrast adjustments. New fixed pixel technology has further improved its image sharpness but it still can’t beat the CRT HDTV technology. The CRT image quality remains unfazed when viewed under room light or daylight. HDTV based CRT Television is as good as flat screen TV. It shows no distortion of image when viewed from different angles.

The other advantage is its price and affordability. Take for example a 19 CRT monitor from Panasonic CRT range. The product will cost you only $299.99. Even a 36 CRT TV armed with HDTV technology from Sanyo CRT HDTV can be purchased for around $1500 to $2000. In comparison, the price of a 37 LCD TV is almost double than the price of its CRT counterpart. They are almost maintenance-free products and thus have a long life expectancy.

The disadvantages with traditional TVs are that they are very heavy, bulky and very space-hungry. Moving them here and there is not an easy job. They have limitation of maximum size too. The largest available CRT based TV is only 38 inch diagonal while LCD is coming at 45” size and still even bigger sizes are in pipeline.

People normally assume CRT to be an outdated technology which is not true at all. HDTV based CRT can easily compete with LCD or plasma technology in terms of picture and sound quality.

So if you have CRT TV, put them on beautiful and elegant CRT monitor arm stand which are available in different designs and adjustable features. WorkRite monitorMovers CRT monitor arm, for example, is available in selective colors and can be converted into flat screen monitor arm if so required. Use CRT screen protector to safeguard your monitor screen from dust and scratch and to increase its life-span.
