Wireless Home Theater

It is not as easy to conceal the home theater cables within the walls of the house as we do in case of general electrical fittings which are pre-wired during the construction of the home.

'Wirelessing' the speakers is quite feasible with the Bluetooth and WI-FI technologies with which you can fully integrate your home entertainment system.

Besides these, you can have many products form the market with wireless support that include cable and satellite set-top boxes, wireless speakers systems, media players and so on. Some manufacturers like NETGEAR and Actiontec with their Wireless Digital Media players are making efforts in this direction.

Though the efforts are in place for a wireless speaker system in home theaters, the hard fact remains that it will take quite some time to develop a system that matches your intentions, quality requirements, security, convenience and, most importantly, your budget. These are significant issues that need to be addressed by the manufacturers of wireless systems before their technology can be delivered at a price that has mass market appeal. The use of wired audio and video interconnections, therefore, is going to stay constant for a number of years.

This, however, does not imply that no financially feasible wireless speaker solution has been achieved. The wireless technology has indeed made substantial advancements in the home theater and home entertainment by offering full PC/home theater integration through an easy wireless solution.

There is still lot more. Wireless technology has been developed to a level where it is quite capable of supporting a rear wireless speaker set up for your surround sound needs. This is in addition to the availability of a large number of wireless speakers for a multi-room audio where the underground or in-wall wiring is not possible.

The fact of the matter, for the present at least, remains that the wired speakers have their own charming surround sound effects which cannot be created through the wireless system, even though the gap in the audio qualities of the two systems is gradually becoming imperceptible with the advancement of the digital based wireless technology which keep the signal drop-outs, noise, distortion, and RF interference to a minimum.
